Frequently asked questions

What is the tenge-to-baht rate?

Roughly 100 tenge is about 7 baht. Check the exact figure with the exchanger.

Do they accept Kazakhstani cards?

Many licensed exchangers work with Kazakhstani bank cards, check when you place the request.

Where is it better to exchange tenge for baht?

At the large licensed chains in the city or online with delivery. At the airport and at small spots the tenge rate is usually worse.

Can you withdraw baht with a Kazakhstani bank card?

You can withdraw from an ATM, but it charges around 220 baht per transaction plus your own bank's fee. For noticeable amounts, exchange through a trusted chain is a better deal.

How to exchange tenge to baht well

Exchanging tenge for baht is needed by tourists from Kazakhstan. The tenge rate is kept reasonable, and, as with any currency, it is better to change it in the city than at the airport. Many chains also accept Kazakhstani bank cards.

You transfer tenge or hand over cash, and receive baht in a convenient way: in cash at the office, by courier or to a Thai account. The rate is locked in when you place the request.

Cash tenge is exchanged in Thailand less often than dollars, so small street counters often give a poor rate for this currency or do not work with it at all. It is more reliable to change a large amount at a trusted chain, and to bring cash in large banknotes.

If you have only a little cash tenge, it is often easier to transfer money to an exchanger from a Kazakhstani bank card and receive the baht on the spot. The final amount is visible in advance, since the rate is locked in when you place the request.
